Baking Bread

I've been dreaming of this day for so long and I finally did it. I baked bread!
The recipe was quite simple. All the ingredients I used are in the first image.
I guess the reason I wanted to bake bread is because I love bread - I really cannot live without it and I had got to the point where I was sick of always having to go out every few days to buy bread (It actually works out a lot cheaper to bake bread than to buy it).
It took me just under two and a half hours to get to the finished product. Though the funny thing was that the crust was rock hard and the texture felt wooden - you could have actually killed someone with the loaf. Having said that I wouldn't have wanted it to turn out any other way.
Given the texture of the bread I was unable to cut the slices any thinner, however it is quite filling which is great because I do have the tendancy to over eat.
I will certainly be baking bread every week from now on. It's so worth it and I had loads of fun!
Can't wait until the next bake!

  1. I made bread in secondary school, can't say I'd do it everyday! Too much work.
I found a really cool recipe you might want to try! http://taste-for-adventure.tablespoon.com/2011/03/12/panda-bread/
I made it a while ago to take into school for my friends, and it was really cute. Totally worth all the time it takes! Oh and it barely tastes sweet, just like bread :)
