An Open Mind

'The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.'

Terry Pratchett, from his book Diggers, 1990
I pride myself on being very open-minded  but at the same time I hold morals and expectations of myself that I expect myself to abide by. It's part of my slightly warped personality and standards I set myself. There are things I will  and won't do regardless of who is forcing me to do so - that's just how I am so I find it extremely disrespectful (and being African I've come to realise the for me respect is a big thing for me) if someone tries to enforce something upon me or asks something of me that they are aware I won't do. So as Terry perfectly puts it - my mind will be as open as I wish to open it.

The Definition of Being Bigger and Better

My brother (on the far right) signed a semi-pro contract in January for Staines Town FC which made me the proudest big sister in the world. We had been talking about this for so long - given his aged (18) it was beneficial for him to have signed sooner rather than later because he is getting 'old'.
However he was signed on a temporary semi-pro contract and I am hoping that this is the beginning of great things for him.
He played for the entire game in the final of the Middlesex Cup and they won 2-0.

I am very proud.
A very proud big sis!
